Reptiles That Start With Y

The Yacare caiman is a species of alligator native to the Amazon basin in South America, known for its loud vocalizations and averaging around five feet long.

Yemen chameleons are identifiable by their horns – males having two or three and females one – as well as their keen vision which can even detect ultraviolet light.

The yellow-bellied sea snake has an olive hue and lives mostly on offshore islands, hunting with pressure sensitive organs along its body.

Lastly, the yellow monitor lizard is native to tropical regions of Asia and Africa; despite its delicate coloration, it is a strong swimmer and climber.
