Have you ever seen a phalanger? This small, fuzzy marsupial is native to certain parts of Australia, and can often be spotted in wooded areas. It is similar in size and appearance to the common backyard squirrel.
The Philippine duck comes from – you guessed it – the Philippines! These stunning waterfowl dwell mostly in the water, foraging for food among plants and insects. They travel in groups and have been known to take long trips across Southeast Asia looking for sustenance.
Lastly, there’s the photuris firefly, often referred to as ‘lightning bugs’. Not only are these bugs visually captivating but they also produce stars of light when night falls! Thanks to their only true predator, frogs, these fireflies can continue glowing without any fear of danger.
