Birds That Start With Y

Have you ever pondered the birds that start with the letter Y? If so, allow me to tell you about some of them. The Yellownaped Amazon is a stunning parrot hailing from Mexico and Central America with shades of green and blue feathers along with a vibrant yellow crown. These birds thrive on a diet consisting of nuts, fruits, and seeds, making them easy to care for.

The Yellow-Billed Cuckoo is an exotic species found in North America. It has a distinguishing black-and-white striped head and white underparts outlined in black alongside a bright yellow beak. They feed on insects and migrate south during winter in pursuit of food before heading back north when it gets warmer again.

Another unique bird is the Yellowhammer—Alabama’s state bird! It has quite a remarkable appearance featuring several yellow bands on its head and upperparts decorated with streaks of brown or grayish brown against black wings bordered by white patches on all sides. Their menu comprises of weeds, grains, grasses and other plants . Sadly though, many of these birds have vanished from our skies leaving us wondering what happened to them…
