Birds are well-known creatures, but how many of the different types do you know? Here is an overview of some of the most interesting varieties.

The iconic Bald Eagle is a large bird with a white head that is found in the US and has been adopted as its national symbol since 1782. It usually hunts fish near rivers and lakes, with an impressive wingspan reaching up to eight feet wide.

The Peacock is an incredibly colorful bird, boasting blues and purples on its feathers. They can be found in wet tropical forests, looking for bugs to eat. Their tail length can be up to five feet long!

Hummingbirds are among the world’s smallest birds, able to hover or even fly backwards while gathering nectar from flowers or other sources of food. In fact, their wings beat up to 50 times per second!

Finally, owls are easily recognized by their large eyes and pointed ears and come in a great variety of shapes and sizes. These nocturnal hunters have amazing vision which they use to catch rodents after dark. Owls prefer living alone in trees or underground burrows – so always keep your eyes peeled!
